Professor Andre Gomes was born in 1988 in Sao Paulo – Brazil. He started his Jiu-Jitsu journey back in 2002 when he was 14 years old. During his career, he lived in Dubai for 4 years coaching the United Arab Emirates Army, and then became a Professor here in the United States in 2018. In 2021 he had the opportunity to open his own school with his partners Camila and Gary in Texas. Nowadays, Andre Gomes keeps achieving lots of titles as an athlete and developing a great role as Head Coach here at Carlson Gracie Lewisville.

Known for his technical prowess and dynamic style, Lucas specializes in positions such as Berimbolo, triangle choke, straight ankle lock, lasso guard, and De La Riva guard. Camila Souza is the owner and program director at Carlson Gracie Lewisville, where she also serves as the assistant coach for the kids’ program and woman´s only classes.

With a passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, she shines in creating a friendly atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Camila moved to Texas in 2015 and quickly made a mark in the fitness community. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Verys Brazil and is a Certified Personal Trainer through ISSA. Camila has also earned certifications in Marketing and Sales, Jiu-Jitsu School Management from Associação Alliance de Jiu-Jitsu, and sales training through Loud Rumor. Additionally, she is certified in Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED by the American Red Cross.
At Carlson Gracie, Camila is dedicated to building a vibrant community where women can come together, learn self-defense, and support each other. As a Blue Belt, she assists in teaching the kids’ program, focusing on instilling values like respect, teamwork, and confidence in the young martial artists.
